Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 15, 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide usage information. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage, which store data directly in your browser.
2. How We Use Cookies & Local Storage
Debt AI Pro uses a minimal set of cookies and browser storage technologies. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
| Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase Auth Cookie | Maintains your login session so you stay authenticated | Session / 7 days |
| localStorage (debt-ai-*) | Stores your preferences, tool settings, financial data cache, and profile info for fast loading | Persistent until cleared |
| localStorage (dark mode) | Remembers your dark/light theme preference | Persistent until cleared |
| localStorage (avatar) | Caches your profile photo for instant display | Persistent until cleared |
3. Essential vs. Non-Essential
- Essential: The Supabase auth cookie is required for the Service to function. Without it, you cannot stay logged in.
- Functional: localStorage entries improve performance and user experience but are not strictly required. The app will fall back to default values if they are cleared.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Debt AI Pro does not set any third-party cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising trackers. External fonts loaded from Google Fonts may set their own cookies as governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Managing Cookies & Storage
You can control cookies and local storage through your browser settings:
- Clear all data: Use your browser's "Clear browsing data" option to remove cookies and localStorage.
- Block cookies: Configure your browser to block cookies, though this will prevent login functionality.
- Selective clearing: Use browser developer tools (F12 → Application → Storage) to view and delete specific entries.
Please note that clearing localStorage will remove your cached preferences and you will need to re-sync from the cloud on your next login.
6. Data Syncing
When you are logged in, data stored in localStorage is periodically synced to our secure cloud database (Supabase) so your settings and financial data are available across devices. See our Privacy Policy for details on how this data is protected.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of technologies evolves. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
